Obstetrics and Gynecology

The obstetrics and gynecology department is a well-functioning unit at Visby Hospital.

We have over 500 deliveries per year and a large gynecological operation with outpatient and inpatient care. Currently, we have eleven doctors, of which two are residents.

Your Responsibilities

You will start with an introduction to the specialty by observing deliveries and gynecology consultations. You will have a supervisor, and when you start having your own consultations, the on-call service will be there to assist you. Before you start on-call duties, at the earliest six months and at the latest one year after starting your residency, you must have worked at least three months at a larger delivery clinic.

Our gynecological services include a broad general gynecological clinic, including infertility and abortion services. The surgical operations in Visby consist of day surgeries and inpatient surgeries. Experienced midwives primarily work in the delivery ward.

We are looking for a licensed physician who wants to work in a smaller hospital.

You work well in a team with a focus on the patient's best interest. Your ability to collaborate and take responsibility are prioritized areas, and we place great importance on personal qualities.

Before a hiring decision is made, a background check will be conducted through an extract from the criminal record.
