Compensation Officer Wanted at Kommunal's Unemployment Fund

Are you a responsible person with a strong drive to provide our members with compensation of the right quality? Then you might be the one we are looking for! Kommunal's unemployment fund is currently seeking more compensation officers to strengthen our production offices.

We are an organization present in eight locations in Sweden, with our headquarters in Stockholm. The other locations are in Gothenburg, Härnösand, Kalmar, Karlstad, Luleå, Lund, and Visby.

Kommunal's unemployment fund is one of Sweden's largest unemployment funds, and our main mission is to pay compensation to our unemployed members. We are not an authority, but we perform governmental functions when we process and decide on cases regarding compensation and membership.

About the Role

You will investigate and make decisions regarding the payment of unemployment benefits based on current legislation. We are on an exciting journey of change in our working methods and are facing new legislation that will come into effect on October 1, 2025. You will be part of a team working together to achieve set production and operational goals. You will also provide service to our members via phone, visits, email, and other channels.

Our focus is on efficient and legally secure processing with a good working environment. We are increasingly automating ongoing processing, which means we can spend more time on the more complicated parts of a case.

The position is a permanent employment with a 6-month probationary period, starting no later than April 1. The position is located at the unemployment fund's office in Visby.

Who Are You?

You will have many contacts both with colleagues within the unemployment fund and with members and authorities, so you must be a communicative person with good collaboration skills. At Kommunal's unemployment fund, we always focus on the member, and you are expected to be professional, credible, empathetic, and engaged. You have a pedagogical ability to meet and explain to our members how the unemployment insurance works. You can work in a high-paced environment in a structured way and take great responsibility for your work while being able to distinguish between your professional role and your personal life.

You will have varied tasks and need to be flexible and able to prioritize among tasks during your workday. You need to be open to the fact that working methods may change and develop based on the digitization occurring throughout society. Therefore, it is important that you can embrace new technology, new working methods, and new information. We welcome you to contribute ideas and think innovatively.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Post-secondary education, preferably with a focus on law, economics, social sciences, or other education that we assess as equivalent.
• Ability to interpret and apply regulations.
• Good computer skills.
• Ability to communicate fluently in Swedish, both orally and in writing. We work with clear language, which means we transform complex legal concepts into clear, understandable, and accurate texts for our members.

Meritorious:

• If you have work experience in administrative activities, preferably with experience from unemployment funds or from authorities that we assess as relevant.
• If you have knowledge of the Unemployment Insurance Act and the Unemployment Funds Act.

We are looking for several compensation officers, starting as agreed, no later than April 1. The positions are permanent employment, with a requirement for a 6-month probationary period.
