Senior Mechanical Designer

About the position

You will be offered a qualified and developing position in an international environment. EMVE Sweden is characterized by short decision-making paths, a high level of ambition, and professionalism.

As a Senior Mechanical Designer, you are the bridge between marketing, project management, and production. You are responsible for producing technical documentation such as drawings and preparations for manufacturing that takes place in our own facilities.

In this role, you will work on preparations for production all the way from early design phases, where you influence the design from a production perspective, to collaborating with production to develop an efficient, manufacturable, and predictable production execution.

You are responsible for ensuring that purchasing, production, and assembly documentation is correct. You will also work on the development of processes and routines.

You design everything from individual machines to entire production lines. You work both with new construction and further development of existing machines. Your tasks are performed both individually and in a team. You collaborate internally with sales/marketing, production, and purchasing. Externally, you collaborate with consultants and suppliers.

You report to the R&D Manager and are part of the development department, which consists of a total of 7 people.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who is a mechanical engineer or has equivalent technical education at the university level (bachelor's or master's degree) or equivalent knowledge.

We are looking for someone with at least 5 years of design and construction experience after graduation. If you have more experience, we view this positively.

We consider it valuable if you have a broad technical understanding and are interested in (or have previous experience) in production technology and/or materials knowledge.

You currently work in a manufacturing company or as a consultant. Previous experience from project-oriented operations, machine construction, and/or related industries is an advantage.

We use Inventor as our CAD tool and Vault as PDM. You have good knowledge of the Office suite. We work in the business system Monitor, and if you have previous experience with MPS systems, it is valuable.

Fluent Swedish in speech and writing is required for the position. Since the position also involves collaboration with foreign companies and customers, good knowledge of English is required.

You are a creative problem solver with a strong interest in technology. We find it valuable that you have a strategic ability and can see the big picture. You also want to take an active role in further developing working methods and processes. We are looking for someone who is happy to act as a sounding board for your colleagues and shares your knowledge and experience.

As a Senior Mechanical Designer, you are a team player with a good ability to collaborate and communicate both internally and externally. You are attentive and flexible. Furthermore, you are driven, responsible, and structured, and unafraid of challenges. You are also organized regarding documentation and meticulous in your work.

We normally work on-site at the office in Åstorp.

A valid driver's license (B) is required for the position.
