About Us

The Infectious Diseases and Lung Clinic is a regional clinic with over 100 employees. We operate in the fields of infectious diseases, lung diseases, and specialized adult allergy. All employees are based at Mälarsjukhuset, but the regional assignment ensures high availability for consultations from medical colleagues throughout the region. We provide inpatient care in the infectious diseases and lung department. The clinic has three outpatient services: the infectious disease clinic, the lung and allergy clinic, and the diagnostic center. A needle exchange program and the contact tracing unit are also part of our clinic.

The clinic is responsible for specialized lung care for all adults belonging to Region Sörmland.

The lung clinic is staffed with nursing assistants and nurses specialized in oxygen therapy and respiratory care with ventilators, contact nurses for the lung cancer process, as well as clinic nurses and nursing assistants who assist with procedures, spirometry, etc.

Your Responsibilities

As a specialist physician with us, you will work in both outpatient and inpatient care. Work in outpatient care includes conducting consultation visits, participating in team rounds in both the oxygen/ventilator service and cancer care. Other common tasks include performing pulmonary medical procedures, such as bronchoscopy, EBUS (radial and linear), flexible thoracoscopy, and thoracostomy. Furthermore, the work in inpatient care focuses on hospitalized lung patients.

Currently, there is no on-call duty or standby included in the position.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed physician with a specialty in pulmonary medicine who is interested in driving the operation forward. You must have a Swedish medical license and a specialist certificate in lung care, as well as good knowledge of the Swedish language (equivalent to Swedish C1).

The operation requires you to be flexible and able to adapt to changing circumstances. You are someone who is used to taking responsibility and can easily collaborate with others both within and outside your own clinic. We prefer that you have experience managing patients in both inpatient and outpatient care and knowledge in performing bronchoscopies, EBUS, and drainage insertions.
