We are looking for both sample takers and geotechnicians for the geology department this summer!

Description

As a geotechnician, you will be based in our prep lab. Your main tasks will include managing all samples and core samples and documenting them continuously. You will maintain order and ensure that all equipment used is in working condition. You will also assist with the geotechnical aspects of core and tailings mapping.

As a sample taker underground, you will take so-called chip samples according to the geologist's instructions in the underground mine, and then handle rock samples and drill cuttings at Geolab. A large part of the job at Geolab involves cleaning, assisting geo assistants with core samples, and handling pallets and boxes for core samples.

Qualifications

As a geotechnician, we prefer you to be meticulous and work efficiently. Good communication is valued as close collaboration occurs with other geotechnicians and cooperation with various departments within Björkdalsgruvan.

As a sample taker, you should be precise and maintain good order to avoid contamination of samples. You should have a strong safety mindset and good physical condition. You should also be familiar with using Microsoft Excel. A forklift license is advantageous but not a requirement, as we can provide training on site.

For both roles, having a forklift license is advantageous but not required. Some employees speak English, so it is essential that you are proficient in both Swedish and English. A driver's license is a requirement for both positions.

Conditions

As a sample taker, you will work partially underground and follow the production geologists' 7/7 shifts.

As a geotechnician, you will work daytime, Mon-Fri.
