Certification Engineer in Machine Safety at Swedish Machine Testing

Information about the position

The team within Machine Safety is growing and needs more members! Now we are looking for you at Professionals Nord in collaboration with SMP Swedish Machine Testing, who are curious about a career as a certification engineer.

SMP works for a safer work environment and offers services in personal protective equipment, machine and environmental safety. They are accredited for inspection of all construction machinery, lifting equipment, elevators, and gates. SMP carries out certifications, tests, and environmental controls throughout the country.

The position is a direct recruitment, which means that the recruitment process is handled through Professionals Nord and you will be employed directly by SMP. Responsibilities

As a certification engineer at SMP, you play a crucial role in the work for a continued safe and secure work environment both in Sweden and globally. You will mainly work on assessing technical documentation for certification in CE marking of various types of machinery, lifting equipment, production lines, but also personal protective equipment.

• Be responsible for and carry out inspections and projects
• Handle and review type controls
• Follow up on the validity of certificates and attestations, and notify of refused or revoked certificates
• Participate in European certification consultations and committees
• Contribute to the development of new standards and regulations and stay updated on changes in requirements

In the role, you also work strategically with long-term customer relationships and develop SMP's customer offering, ensuring that projects and assignments continue in an efficient and business-like manner.

Training is offered internally to make you feel confident in your role, and your colleagues consist of a lovely and experienced team where lack of prestige and cooperation are highly valued. The position is a full-time position based at the testing laboratory/office in Umeå or Uppsala.

We are looking for you who

Are educated in mechanical engineering, technical physics, electronics, or similar. You have some years of work experience in technical work and are curious to develop within machine safety as a certification engineer!

We are looking for someone who is driven, engaged, and ready to take on a new challenge in a role where you can combine technology, problem-solving, safety, and quality. You are someone who thrives in independent work where you structure your days and have a business sense to develop both yourself and the business. The position also involves some travel per month within Sweden.

A driver's license and proficiency in both spoken and written Swedish and English are required for the position.
