The Position

The trainee program lasts for 9 months during which you will get to know the energy industry and the Skellefteå Kraft Group. The focus will be on the market, but through job shadowing, you will gain insight into all business areas and all levels through assigned tasks from the Group's departments.

Through the trainee program, you will be offered a good start to your career with a large network and a unique insight into all parts of the Group's operations. After completing the trainee program, your employment will continue with a position as an energy engineer in the Business Market.

During your trainee period, you will solve various types of tasks, both together with supervisors but also on your own where you will analyze and suggest improvements to the operations based on your own skills, as well as make study visits that provide insight into the industry's challenges.

In the role of an energy engineer with us, you will lead, plan, carry out, and follow up on energy surveys and other energy investigations for existing and new customers as well as Skellefteå Kraft AB. You actively work for new and existing customers to utilize our entire product portfolio.

You identify and analyze energy efficiency measures and suggest suitable solutions, as well as conduct internal and external training in the field.

The assignments are customer-specific, which means a great variation in tasks. The customer's needs are at the center, and you often visit the customer at their own facility.

During your trainee period with us, we will provide you with education and work experience so that over time you can become a Certified Energy Surveyor and Certified Energy Expert.

The position is a permanent employment at 100% with a 6-month probationary period. Entry on September 1, 2025, with placement in Skellefteå. At times, the pace can be high, and work at inconvenient times may occur, for example, at fairs or events.

Requirements

• Completed university education with a degree in 2024 or 2025 as an energy engineer (civil engineer or higher education engineer) or in a relevant equivalent area
• Driver's license
• Good Swedish and English in speech and writing
• Computer skills

Who are we then?

Skellefteå Kraft enables the electrification of society and future infrastructure solutions through innovation, research, and investments in renewable energy. We are one of Sweden's largest power producers with production of wind and hydropower, heat, and bioenergy.

With our district heating, energy from forest-based by-products becomes heat in tens of thousands of homes.

District heating is mainly produced with biofuels in nearly 70 production plants, where the three largest are located in Hedensbyn in Skellefteå, Lycksele, and Malå.

Our hydropower comes from the mighty rivers in the north and accounts for two-thirds of the electricity we produce. Wind power enables the transition to a 100 percent renewable energy system where we currently own five wind farms with about 117 wind turbines in operation.

Skellefteå Kraft is also a regional and local grid owner with a 1,200 km long electricity grid and operates in a total of nine municipalities. We invest heavily in being able to deliver electricity to our 64,000 customers in a safe and secure manner.

We build and own the fiber network in Skellefteå and its surroundings. Eight out of ten municipal residents have access to one of Sweden's fastest and best networks, and more are to come.

We prioritize customers and their needs. Security in delivery is a top priority, as well as good service and fair agreements.
