F21 is looking for a Field Operations Leader for the R3 Platoon in Vidsel

Norrbotten Wing, F 21, is Sweden's northernmost air wing. The main base is in Luleå, with secondary bases in Jokkmokk and Vidsel. F 21's mission is to deliver air operational effect through the fighter squadrons and JAS39. F 21 has one of the world's largest air exercise areas used by both Swedish Air Force units and units from other countries.

The R3 Platoon Vidsel is part of the R3 Company. The company is responsible for the operation of three airports, one of which operates around the clock, every day of the year.

Airport field operations at Vidsel Airport are an important part of airport operations and ensure accessibility and flight safety for military aviation.

The main task of the platoon is to conduct field operations and rescue services at the airport, such as snow removal, ice control, and wildlife management. Other tasks include repairing damage to runways or other surfaces, fieldwork, and clearing unexploded ordnance.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone with good social skills who is flexible, meticulous, and responsible, as the position often requires independent work in smaller teams. Regardless of background, it is important that you are a team player, with good collaboration skills with both superiors and subordinates. Being action-oriented, resourceful, and able to work under pressure is essential for the unit to function.

The Field Operations Leader must be able to operate a wide range of special vehicles/machines to fulfill their duties, so an interest in motors is advantageous for the position.

Your employment will begin with basic training for the position, and after that, you will continue to develop through training where you can choose to specialize in the platoon's many areas of expertise.

Main Responsibilities

The main task of the Field Operations Leader is to create conditions for the wing to operate by leading the daily operations of field services at the airport. A selection of other tasks includes:

• Supporting the company's training in material and vehicle services
• Leading and conducting operational field services.
• Supervising subordinate field operations personnel.
• Planning and conducting exercise activities
• Participating in activities ordered by the wing regarding readiness and exercises.
• Conducting combat training for about 2 weeks, GUF, and maintaining these skills throughout the year at selected intervals at least every three years.
• Operation of a secondary base or another airport

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

• Good knowledge of Swedish and English
• Driver's license category B, C, or military driver's license
• Military driver's license for wheel loader
• Experience working at an airport
• Firefighter

Meritorious

• Knowledge, experience, and interest in construction machinery
• CE or military driver's license for heavy truck and trailer
• Experience working in the PRIO system
• Experience in administration/administrative tasks
• Instructor competencies within the R3 area of work
• Trained field operations leader

Other Information

Employment type: Permanent, the Swedish Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those not employed by the authority.
