Stockholm – our capital city with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone living here today and in the future. Now we are looking for you who want to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.
Skärholmen's district administration is one of Stockholm's 11 district administrations and includes the neighborhoods of Bredäng, Sätra, Skärholmen, and Vårberg. More than 1,000 employees work here for our 37,000 residents. We offer a municipal operation that we are proud of, and we have a fantastic diversity. Welcome with your unique contribution!
Welcome to the Preventive and Promoting Unit!
The Preventive and Promoting Unit is organized within the area of Prevention and Promotion, Skärholmen's district administration.
Here you will have the opportunity to work with early interventions for the residents of Skärholmen when they need them. Our unit consists of youth reception, field operations, school social workers, parent reception, social intervention groups (SIG), and SSPF (school, social services, police, and leisure) as well as social workers with the police. The area is also home to Leisure. The area is led by an area manager and two unit managers with group leaders. The entire area is in an exciting development phase; we are working intensively to shape working methods to meet the new social services law and the needs of the district. As an employee with us, you are part of this work, and you will have great opportunities to influence the working methods within your operation.
To strengthen the crime prevention work, we are now hiring 2 SIG coordinators (social intervention groups) for the unit.
We are looking for you who are interested in working with both youth and adults and want to help develop the work with social intervention groups. The target group for SIG is individuals aged 13-29 who commit crimes, are at risk of developing or have developed a criminal lifestyle, and/or are in criminal environments where they risk becoming involved or are already involved in violent extremism. For the SIG intervention to be relevant, both the social services and the police must assess the intervention as appropriate, and there must be a need for coordinated support. Partners beyond the police may include the Prison and Probation Service, job centers, and schools, as well as colleagues within social services. Your workplace is located in modern premises at the district administration's office in Skärholmen Center. Your work involves great flexibility and is primarily conducted in the field and with other partners such as the police, job centers, detention centers, etc.
We offer you:
- an opportunity to make a difference for our children and youth in Skärholmen
- a meaningful and developing job where you will meet a target group in need of support
- engaged and experienced colleagues with high competence in crime prevention work
- a unit that is in a building phase within an area of the district that aims to be at the forefront regarding early interventions
- close supervision
As an employee with us, you will receive a wellness allowance and the opportunity to take advantage of favorable offers from several gym chains and swimming pools.
In your role as SIG Coordinator, you will work:
- outreach, you create contact with individuals who need our interventions
- motivational, a large part of the work aims to get individuals to accept interventions from social services or others who can be a support for the individual
- coordinating, you establish action plans together with the individual and other stakeholders, and you hold regular network meetings
- collaborative, you have structured collaboration with colleagues within social services and police and probation services to offer adequate interventions for the individual, and you cooperate on how the work should be conducted
The work involves some evening shifts and is occasionally conducted in socially vulnerable environments. On-call duty may occur.
Your skills and experience:
We want you to have:
- a degree in social work
- several years of experience working with the target group
- experience working with case management within the social services' child and youth unit and/or adult unit
It is also advantageous if you have:
- further education in relevant crime prevention programs
- experience working in socially vulnerable areas
- a driver's license
You are secure, flexible, stable, and have good self-awareness. You are service-oriented, structured, and take responsibility for your tasks and drive processes forward. Additionally, you are calm, attentive, and accommodating in your interactions and have good collaboration skills. You value differences and understand that background, culture, and group affiliation can affect individuals.
In your work, you are a good role model for the individuals you meet as a SIG Coordinator.
We place great emphasis on the above-mentioned skills, personal qualities, along with motivation and commitment to the position.
Welcome with your application for this meaningful and fun job!
