The Central Hospital Kristianstad (CSK) is the emergency hospital for northeastern Skåne. Here, emergency care is provided around the clock by qualified and dedicated staff. CSK has the resources of a large hospital combined with the closeness and community of a smaller hospital. The hospital offers residents in the catchment area care with short waiting times across all specialties. We have around 2,600 employees.

The Urology Area (VO) conducts both planned and emergency surgery and has a total of about 60 employees. We have a care department with 21 beds, a fully equipped clinic, and conduct a complete urological operation including robot-assisted surgery. Our clinic is growing, and therefore we are now looking for a new nursing colleague with a burning interest in urology. At the urology clinic, we are currently a happy team of five nursing assistants and six nurses who work closely together. The VO urology has received an increased mandate and will also manage patients from Skåne University Hospital (SUS) and Helsingborg Hospital.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a nurse at our clinic, you will follow the patient throughout the care process, from investigation and treatment to rehabilitation. You will plan and attend diagnosis announcements as well as new patient visits and then have follow-up conversations to ensure that the patient has understood the information. Furthermore, you will participate in multidisciplinary conferences and in designing individual care plans together with the patient and other team members. The role also includes having your own clinic, which consists of complicated catheter changes, flow measurements, and bladder instillation.

In a typical work week, you will also engage in some administrative tasks, telephone counseling, and ensuring active handovers to other caregivers. You will also have knowledge of national care programs and quality registers. We offer good development opportunities in several exciting areas such as urotherapy, cystoscopy, and cystometry.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a licensed nurse with the authority to work within Swedish healthcare and who has several years of experience in the role. Language skills in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale is a requirement. We consider it an advantage if you have previously worked in a surgical environment and/or have experience working with cancer patients. It is also beneficial if you are a urotherapist or have a genuine interest in urology.

The work requires that you are confident in your professional role, appreciate making your own decisions, and enjoy working both independently and in a team. You are good at planning and organizing your work in advance while being able to prioritize when an acute situation arises. Furthermore, you are meticulous in your nursing role and care about taking care of patients based on their different needs. It is important that you can see relationships in their proper perspective and maintain a professional attitude when meeting patients and relatives. As a person, you are stable and have good self-awareness. We also want you to, just like us, value a job characterized by personal responsibility, participation, and good collaboration between colleagues and the immediate manager.
