Capio Geriatrics Nynäshamn is located within a short commuting distance from the southern suburbs of Stockholm, with commuter trains from Stockholm, just a short walk from the train to the nice and friendly hospital in the heart of Nynäshamn.

The geriatrics department has a unit offering 22 general geriatric care beds. We have direct admissions around the clock and a high flow of admissions and discharges.

In our geriatric departments, we care for patients with various issues including infections, cardiovascular diseases, COPD, diabetes, stroke, and orthopedic problems. Many of those we meet have not only one illness or problem but many. Therefore, it is often not enough to treat one disease; we make a comprehensive assessment that allows you to meet everyone from doctors and nurses to physiotherapists, social workers, speech therapists, and dietitians.

We are looking for a specialist physician for a leadership role who wants to work with geriatric care in a multiprofessional team. You will be one of two patient-responsible doctors at the clinic. You will be responsible for supervising the junior doctors you work with. You will be part of a team with the other specialist physician, where you support and help each other. Collaboration and knowledge exchange occur with other geriatric clinics in Capio. On-call work is included in collaboration with Vårberg geriatrics, and on-call compensation leave should be regularly taken for good recovery.

You have a Swedish medical license with specialist competence in geriatrics and experience from inpatient care. We prefer that you enjoy working in a team and can contribute your knowledge across professional boundaries. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability, a good attitude, good collaboration skills, and a genuine interest in geriatrics and teamwork. You have a positive, proactive, and flexible approach and feel secure in your professional role, as well as having the ability to see the operation from a holistic perspective. The work requires good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form. It is advantageous to have completed a relevant and current supervisor training.
