Licensed Occupational Therapist for Skellefteå Short-Term Care Centers

As an occupational therapist, we offer you an independent work with introduction and mentorship based on your previous experience. You have the support and exchange of colleagues in the same profession and from the rest of the team.

Right now, we are looking for an occupational therapist who, during the first year, will be placed at Skellefteå short-term care centers. At Skellefteå short-term care centers, you will closely follow the patient for a shorter period. An important part of the work is person-centered rehabilitation that promotes the individual's ability to live at home as long as possible. You will be part of a close multiprofessional team including physiotherapists, nurses, nursing assistants, and rehabilitation nursing assistants. At Skellefteå short-term care centers, two occupational therapists and two physiotherapists work.

The health and medical care unit works with patients aged 18 and above who need health and medical care at the primary care level at home, both in special and ordinary housing.

Responsibilities:

At Skellefteå short-term care centers, you will work as an occupational therapist in a multiprofessional team that collaborates with and around the patient. The patient often has complex needs and life situations. You work on the person's ability to perform, or participate in, meaningful activities, with the goal of achieving a functional daily life despite their functional variation. You investigate factors in the environment, in the person, and in the activity. The work is dynamic and variable and involves many different contacts with patients and relatives, colleagues, and others within and outside the organization.

Interventions are planned together with the patient and people around the patient. This may include, for example, advice on managing their daily life, training in performing difficult tasks in a usual way or by adapting how things are done, prescribing aids, or making changes in the home environment.

You are involved in the development of the profession and the operation. Guiding and supporting other professional groups to grow in their professional roles is part of the mission.

Qualifications:

We are looking for a licensed occupational therapist. As a person, you are service-oriented, empathetic, and independent. You work in a structured way and plan your work efficiently and solution-oriented, while being able to adapt to changed circumstances. You are attentive and accommodating in your approach, have an easy time making new contacts, and are good at collaborating with others. A B driver's license is required to perform the tasks. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

The social office's employees provide care, support, and assistance to people throughout Skellefteå. They can be elderly, people with physical or mental disabilities, or individuals and families in need of special support for a period.
