At the Department of Urban Planning, about 200 people work to make Sigtuna municipality an attractive, vibrant, and safe place to live and work. We plan new residential and business areas. We design and build streets and water and sewage lines. We take care of parks and forests, as well as schoolyards, preschool yards, and playgrounds. We work on traffic issues, parking supervision, waste management, and much more. We are responsible for regulatory activities and exercise supervision and control, as well as issue permits within our areas. Sigtuna municipality is an expanding municipality with extensive residential construction, many business establishments, and investments in the public space.

The Department of Building Permits and Environmental Protection consists of 40 dedicated employees working for a sustainable environment, handling building permits, safe food, and clean water. We have an open and humorous atmosphere, even though the pace of work can sometimes be high.

The workplace is located in Märsta with convenient commuting distance from both Stockholm and Uppsala.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a building permit officer with a focus on supervision in the building permits unit, you will mainly work with supervision cases within the Planning and Building Act. The work includes investigation, communication, and decision-making. You will write service letters and present cases to the building and environment committee. You will be responsible independently for your tasks in close cooperation and common understanding with colleagues in the unit and department. The work involves many contacts with municipal residents, other administrations, and other authorities.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a building permit officer education, legal education in the field, or someone with another university education in the field of urban planning or equivalent competence as deemed equivalent by the employer.

You have experience working with issues within the Planning and Building Act. It is a merit if you have worked with supervision issues before.

It is important that you can communicate well verbally and in writing.

A valid driver's license is a requirement for the position.
