Hospital in the west is looking for a summer substitute nurse

The hospitals in the west are a management unit within the Västra Götaland Region and consist of four hospitals – Alingsås hospital, Angered hospital, Högsbo hospital, and Kungälv hospital. Approximately 3000 employees work with us every day to provide good and safe specialist healthcare of the highest quality.

About Department 6 at Kungälv hospital

We are part of the Department of Geriatrics, Neurology, and Rehabilitation, and you will find us at Kungälv hospital. Here, we mainly care for patients who have suffered a stroke, patients with hip fractures and other osteoporosis-related fractures, as well as patients with internal medical diagnoses.

During the summer, we merge our two geriatric departments - stroke and geriatric orthopedic acute care department, so you will meet patients with different types of diagnoses.

Work approach

As a nurse with us, you work with the acute stage of care in the stroke process and the care of patients admitted to the department. Our GOA patients (geriatric orthopedic department) are prepared for – or have just undergone hip surgery and have a great need for care in the department.

As a summer substitute with us, we can offer you the opportunity to work all hours of the day with nursing assistant and nurse colleagues. You also work together with doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and dietitians to best meet the patient's needs.

All patients are cared for in individual rooms equipped with the latest technology in the field. Here, we actively work to ensure that all employees in different professions are offered the best conditions to make use of each other's and the patients' resources and expertise. The department is equipped with an advanced patient call system that contributes to the quiet care environment.

Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed nurse, preferably with experience in stroke care, orthopedics, or care for the elderly.
