Summer Substitute as Nursing Assistant at Ward 6, Kungälvs Hospital

The hospitals in the west are a management within the Västra Götaland Region and consist of four hospitals – Alingsås Hospital, Angered Local Hospital, Högsbo Local Hospital, and Kungälv Hospital. Approximately 3000 employees work with us every day to provide good and safe specialist healthcare of the highest quality.

About Ward 6 at Kungälvs Hospital

We are part of the Department of Geriatrics, Neurology, and Rehabilitation, and you will find us at Kungälvs Hospital.

On the ward, we mainly care for stroke and hip patients, but also patients with other internal medical diagnoses.

During the summer, we merge our two geriatric wards, stroke and geriatric orthopedic acute care ward, so you will meet patients with various diagnoses.

Work Approach

As a nursing assistant with us, you work with the acute phase of care in the stroke process and the care of patients admitted to the ward. Our GOA patients (geriatric orthopedic ward) are prepared for – or have just undergone hip surgery and have a high care need on the ward.

As a summer substitute with us, we can offer you the opportunity to work all hours of the day with nursing and nurse colleagues. You also work together with doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and dietitians to best meet the patient's needs.

All patients are cared for in single rooms equipped with the latest technology in the field. Here, we actively work to ensure that all employees in different professions are offered the best conditions to utilize each other's and the patients' resources and skills. The ward is equipped with an advanced patient call system that contributes to the quiet care environment.

Qualifications

We are looking for nursing assistants, preferably with experience in stroke care, orthopedics, or care for the elderly.

If you are a nursing student, you need to have completed semester 4 depending on the educational program.

Protected Professional Title for Nursing Assistants
From July 1, 2023, nursing assistant is a protected professional title. This means that you will need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title nursing assistant in healthcare.
