About SMP Parts
SMP Parts offers a wide range of high-quality products for excavators, all designed to withstand the tough Nordic ground conditions. The products have a long lifespan and the manufacturing follows the high quality standards of the Nordics.
SMP Parts has around 100 employees, and both design and production take place in their own factory in Ilsbo. They actively work on developing new products to ensure that machine operators in the field feel confident that the machine always receives the best the market has to offer.
About the role
As a product developer at SMP Parts, you will have a key role and strengthen the technical team where you primarily work on various technical development projects. This can range from developing new products or new features to making improvements to existing products in the range.
You will start from an existing product portfolio that is continuously evolving, while also handling incoming customer requests for various special features. As a product developer, you will be part of various collaboration groups where projects are often carried out together with external parties such as suppliers and manufacturers. The focus of the role is on working in development projects, but tasks such as product maintenance and support for ongoing production may occur. You will work with the entire product range - including buckets and attachments as well as tiltrotators.

Your profile
We are looking for someone with a solid technical interest and good general mechanical design understanding. You have work experience in mechanical and hydraulic construction, where you have worked on new development projects and developed, designed, and implemented new technical solutions. Furthermore, you have a university degree in mechanical engineering, preferably with a focus on mechatronics, and are proficient in 3D-CAD. Experience or knowledge of control systems is advantageous but not a requirement.
To succeed in the role, we believe that you are communicative in speech and writing and enjoy a role where you can use your abilities to collaborate and coordinate in projects, both with internal and external parties. You are a responsible team player with a high drive and have a habit of working in a structured manner. As a person, you possess a great deal of confidence and can instill trust in your product knowledge.
Requirements for the position
- Work experience in mechanical and hydraulic construction and product development
- University degree in mechanical engineering, preferably in mechatronics
- Knowledge of 3D-CAD, such as Solid Edge or Inventor
- Good understanding of manufacturing technology and a solid technical interest
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English in both speech and writing
- Proficient in MS Office
