Our consultants within AFRY Nuclear drive projects and perform assignments across several technical areas; mech/process, electrical/automation, construction, as well as industry-specific areas such as reactor safety and radioactive waste. We are now looking to strengthen our team by adding one or more development engineers with a primary focus on mechanics for consulting assignments within nuclear power. In the role of development engineer in mechanical design, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects where your tasks will include, but not be limited to, the following:

• Develop design documentation at the system level for mechanical systems
• Be responsible for requirements and sizing of mechanical systems
• Conduct technical analyses of systems and structures at the component and system level
• Prepare technical specifications and work on the qualification of components
• Participate in procurements
• Opportunity to act as a test operation leader

Since a large part of the work will be carried out in collaboration with adjacent departments, we are looking for someone with good communication skills. You can be direct and honest, but also give others time to express their opinions. You are not afraid to establish new contacts to drive the work forward and help in whatever way is needed for the team to perform.

Equally important for the role is that you are meticulous and attentive to detail. This helps you ensure that processes are handled in a structured and safe manner. Since you will often work on parallel assignments, it is also important that you have the ability to use your knowledge and experience flexibly. This is to adapt to different types of expectations and manage your projects in the best way, both for yourself and your clients.

In addition to personal competencies, we are looking for someone who is professionally active and has work experience in developing mechanical processes and systems or mechanical components. You have a technical degree at the university level in mechanical engineering or a related field.

Furthermore, we see that you have:

• Good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form, as Swedish is frequently used within AFRY and with our clients
• A valid driver's license (B) as travel is a natural part of the role

It is also advantageous if you have:

• Experience working with given requirements and regulations
• Previous experience in the nuclear power industry or in a similar industry with high safety requirements
• Previous experience working with processes in heavy industries

As the position operates in security-classified areas, you will undergo drug testing and security clearance before employment can begin. To work in security-classified areas like this, Swedish citizenship is required.
