Business Controller Position at the Swedish Work Environment Authority

Your New Job

The Business Controller is located at the staff of the Inspection Department. The staff supports and drives the planning, development work, and follow-up work within the department.

As a Business Controller, your tasks are based on the authority's mission, the organization's goals and planning, and budget. The tasks also include follow-up and annual reporting. You are responsible for analyzing and monitoring both operational results, e.g., within projects, and financial results in the department.

The role of the Business Controller also involves driving and planning the department's strategic planning work. In the planning, you are responsible for coordinating the department's environmental monitoring and the work of prioritization and selection in supervision. You collaborate with other functions and resources in the work. You play a key role in developing control models so that our processes, projects, and resource utilization are efficient.

As a Business Controller, you are responsible for developing the department's analysis work and improving the strategic management through qualified decision support. You lead, coordinate, and plan the follow-up work at the departmental level and analyze and compile decision materials. You ensure that statements and statistical data, etc., are of high quality.

You are a support and sounding board for the department's managers. This also includes coordinating the department's management support and being the department's contact person for questions about business and financial management.

Travel to our offices around the country occurs in the service.

Your Background

The role requires that you have:

  • Academic degree in economics or equivalent education that the authority finds relevant
  • At least four years of documented experience as a Business Controller with similar tasks in state operations in the last ten years
  • Several years of experience and good practice in decision support in the role of Business Controller
  • Several years of practical experience in state operational planning and management, as well as follow-up
  • Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish
  • Good digital skills

It is advantageous if you also have:

  • Several years of experience working with management processes in state operations
  • Experience in business controlling in inspection activities
  • Experience in a leading role in work with business development and change management
  • Experience in project-driven operations
  • Management experience

The position is a permanent position, full-time, and is currently located at one of our offices in the country. We apply individual salary setting and a probationary period of six months.
