Project Manager for Business Development in Småland, Öland, and Gotland
We are now offering you a chance to contribute to the development of the business sector in Småland, Öland, and Gotland as a project manager for two different projects!
In one project, Region Kalmar County, together with Region Jönköping County, Region Kronoberg, and Region Gotland, is building a long-term structure to support innovation capacity and business development in the four counties.
The work is being carried out in collaboration with five actors working with innovation and business development in five areas of expertise where these counties are strong, which are included in the counties' strategies for smart specialization: food, digital service development, wood and forestry, industrial development, and tourism. The goal of the project is to develop initiatives together with the actors to make the companies in the counties even more competitive and innovative through increased specialization. As a project manager, you are responsible for planning and coordinating all participants in the project with structure and foresight, ensuring that the project progresses according to its timeline and goals. You are responsible for continuous reporting to the project steering group and funders, both in writing and verbally. You lead the project group with representatives from all regions, who in turn work with the coordinating actors. In the project, you will have the support of a project communicator and a project economist.
The second project management role involves being responsible for, leading, and coordinating the region's role in the work with the food strategy for Kalmar County. The goal is to focus on a long-term sustainable development of the food sector in Kalmar County, working together with the county's business-promoting actors, academia, associations, industry organizations, and a selection of food companies. This work includes leading a regional working group and participating in steering group meetings, as well as representing the county in national networks and contexts.
The position is a project employment lasting for four years.
About You
We are looking for someone with a relevant higher education in economics, marketing, social sciences, or another education related to regional development, or equivalent education or knowledge deemed relevant by the employer.
You have experience in managing larger projects with multiple partners, as well as experience in collaboration between the business sector and the public sector. You have several years of experience in business development, particularly within food, and an understanding of innovation support systems and financing systems, both nationally and in Europe. We prefer candidates who have worked in politically governed organizations. The role requires good communication skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written. It is advantageous if you have worked with the theory and method of smart specialization and translated strategies into practical initiatives. Experience from entrepreneurship is also welcome.
As a person, you are good at setting clear goals and are results-oriented. The role of project manager requires you to take the lead and have an easy time collaborating with others. Since the project's partners are located throughout the county, in neighboring regions, and nationally, you will need to travel extensively within Sweden, and international travel may also occur. A driver's license is a requirement.
In this recruitment, we apply continuous selection, so do not wait to submit your application.
Your Future Workplace
You will be employed by the Regional Development Administration at Region Kalmar County, and your workplace will be in Kalmar. The position is placed in the base unit for Business and Culture, which works with issues related to business development, skills supply, tourism, and culture.
