The Gothenburg Primary School Administration is one of the largest school administrations in Sweden. We are responsible for the city's municipal schools from preschool class to grade nine, adapted primary school, cultural school, and after-school care. The administration has 138 municipal primary schools where nearly 47,000 students attend school every day. The entire administration has about 9,700 employees who work together to develop and take care of the operations - together we pave the way for the school of the future.

JOB DESCRIPTION
We are now looking for an area controller who wants to work as qualified management support to the education manager in the Hisingen education area.
As an area controller with us, you are a support to the education manager in the municipal assignment. You focus on being a link between the education manager and the central departments and units in matters such as:
- Goals, planning, budget, analysis, and follow-up
- Department-wide common processes and collaborations
- Interaction and cooperation between school areas, education department, and the central departments and units.
The area controller supports the education manager in areas such as quality and follow-up, results and finance, as well as planning and administration. You base your work on decisions according to overarching and long-term operational goals, guidelines, and governing documents, as well as according to delegation from the education manager.
You are part of the management team of the education area and work closely with the education manager, student health manager, business developer, and department controller. You have close contact with the school leaders in the education area.
The assignment also includes internal and external contacts and representing and promoting the interests of the education area and the primary school administration in various contexts. Together with the department controller, you strengthen and support the administration's governance and leadership to ensure that our resources are utilized correctly and to the best benefit.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who has an academic education at least equivalent to a bachelor's degree (180 credits) with a focus on one of the areas of public administration, economics, pedagogy, law, personnel, or another relevant area for the position. Leadership development programs/training at a higher civil servant level or for executive managers are meritorious.
You who apply have leadership experience, and if you have worked as a manager, it is meritorious. You have several years of experience in management and development work in school operations, preferably at the administrative level.
The role requires that you have:
- Knowledge of an authority's administrative processes regarding school/education operations, finance, student administration, and personnel issues
- Knowledge of laws/regulations and other governing documents at the local, regional, and national level for school operations
- Knowledge of laws/regulations and collective agreements concerning employer responsibilities
- Experience in organizing, following up, and developing educational operations through systematic quality work
- Experience in leading work environment efforts
It is meritorious if you also have:
- Knowledge of public administration and authority exercise
- Knowledge of financial management and resource allocation
- Strategic pedagogical leadership

You can also oversee your own area of responsibility and place your own operations' significance in a larger context.

For you, it is motivating to have clearly defined goals, and you have the ability to translate these into concrete action. You take responsibility for your own and the shared tasks with the operations/users' best interests in focus, think long-term, and have a broad perspective on work-related issues.
