Do you want to help shape the future of education and skills development with us at SSAB?

We are now looking for a Learning and Development Partner to drive and develop training and development work within the company. You will work broadly with skills development, particularly related to the transition to fossil-free production. Location: Borlänge.

Becoming part of the SSAB family means embarking on a journey. A journey that we believe is crucial for the future of the planet and sustainability. Steel has been one of the most important materials for our societal development and will continue to be so in the future. In our homes, in bridges that connect our cities, and in tomorrow's cars. At SSAB, we are proud of our history and our leadership in high-strength steel. At the same time, we are aware that steel production is one of the industries that emits the most greenhouse gases in the world. This must change. We have therefore developed the world's first fossil-free process for steel production, and by around 2030 we will be virtually fossil-free. As part of SSAB, you will be important in realizing this goal and thus contributing to a green transition of the entire steel industry.

About the position

SSAB is undergoing a comprehensive transition towards a greener and more sustainable future with fossil-free production. This change places new demands on our employees, and we are looking for an engaged partner who can help us navigate this transformation by creating and implementing development programs for our employees.

In this role, you will actively engage in local and regional networks to promote and support initiatives in education and skills development. You will also stay updated on current challenges and opportunities in skills supply through networking and participation in relevant meetings and events.

The role is part of our HRD team for Europe, and travel may occur to support collaboration across units and regions.

Your main responsibilities

  • Work closely with HRBP, managers, and management teams to map and create skills development plans based on business needs
  • Define skill needs together with the business based on our strategy
  • Plan and organize skills development activities, both internally and externally
  • Be responsible for leading and facilitating learning and development initiatives, creating engaging learning experiences, and reviewing and ensuring that existing training is relevant and up-to-date before new needs are initiated.
  • Be responsible for creating, managing, and conducting procurement for new training providers
  • Support the organization in using SSAB's LMS
  • Be responsible for coordinating statutory and certification training
  • You will also be involved in developing and harmonizing the role and working methods so that the organization we support receives the right HR support.

About you

  • A degree in human resources or equivalent education is preferred
  • You have experience working with training, skills development, and/or skills supply
  • Fluent in both Swedish and English, spoken and written.
  • Experience from the production and manufacturing industry is preferred
  • You have good communication skills and the ability to build relationships.
  • You have a good ability to organize and plan your work
  • You have a good ability to take initiative
