Job Advertisement: Teacher at SiS Youth Home Ryds Brunn
The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is an authority responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements secure youth care. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse across the country. Working with us at SiS will be an exciting challenge. Regardless of where you work in our organization or what position you hold, you help create life-changing transformations.
SiS Youth Home Ryds Brunn receives school-age boys with psychosocial issues, criminal behavior, and substance abuse.
Do you want to be part of creating life-changing transformations for vulnerable individuals? Then the job as a teacher at SiS is a meaningful challenge.
SiS Youth Home Ryds Brunn consists of three departments with space for 21 school-age boys; one MBB department (reception and needs assessment), one open treatment department, and one secure treatment department, as well as a primary school.
Job Description
As a teacher, you will respond to the principal's assignment for the students' education in school. Additionally, you will handle necessary documentation, collaborate with staff at Ryds Brunn and other institutions and external stakeholders, as well as engage in development work. The students are between 12 and 16 years old, but the teaching is based on where the students are academically.
The teaching takes place in small groups and is individualized as much as possible, including student guidance.
Qualifications
You are interested in working with students who face the greatest challenges in society and who need support from safe and mature adults with big hearts and the ability to encourage and set clear boundaries. Many students have disabilities of a socio-emotional and neuropsychiatric nature, so experience in this area is desirable.
You should be very flexible, have an easy time working with other professionals such as psychologists, treatment assistants, and social services, and be able to express yourself well in both speech and writing.
Your willingness to teach and your ability to create good relationships are crucial for successful work with us. Personal qualities are highly valued.
At SiS, we care about good employee relations. This means that you, as an employee, take responsibility for your work, contribute to development, and participate in good collaboration. Read more about our employee relations.
