About the workplace

At Ersta Hospital (https://www.erstadiakoni.se/att-jobba-pa-ersta/Om-att-jobba-pa-Ersta/jobba-pa-ersta-sjukhus/), employees thrive and we unite in a strong commitment to the patient. Here, decision-making paths are short and effective, and we have good collaboration and community across clinic boundaries. We are currently in an intense and exciting phase where the hospital is growing and has started several new operations during 2024/2025.

The palliative clinic consists of a specialized palliative care ward (SPSV) for adults, advanced home care (ASIH), and Lilla Erstagården, which is a palliative inpatient ward for children and young people.

Lilla Erstagården is beautifully located near Sickla, at Hästhagen, adjacent to Nacka Nature Reserve and Järla Lake. Here, we provide specialized care for children and adolescents with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions - this also includes early palliative phase and end-of-life care. We work child-centered with the patient at the center and include the entire family to a very high extent. We have five care places.

As an employee with us, we offer a range of benefits (https://www.erstadiakoni.se/att-jobba-pa-ersta/Om-att-jobba-pa-Ersta/dina-formaner/) including wellness grants that we hope will provide you with the conditions to thrive at work and have a rewarding leisure time.

About the role

As a nurse, you have a leading role and lead and distribute the work, participate in rounds, meetings, and care planning.

You are responsible for nursing care as well as tasks such as medication management, sampling, and handling various enteral access points. Many of our patients have a central access in the form of SVP, CVK, or Piccline. Various respiratory aids are also commonly used.

Your colleagues will include pediatricians, pediatric nurses, nurses, child caregivers, nursing assistants, social workers, physiotherapists, sibling supporters, play therapists, and deacons. We work in close collaboration with the children's regular caregivers at the children's hospitals. We offer recurring reflection and supervision to ensure the well-being of the workgroup.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who is confident in their professional role and enjoys working in a team. You have good collaboration skills, are attentive, and communicate in a constructive manner. You also share Ersta's values of seeing the whole person and our value words; professionalism, trust, and hope.

Your experience

We are primarily looking for a licensed nurse with several years of experience in pediatric care or specialized training in pediatric care. Experience in palliative care is an advantage.
