We are about 350 colleagues within the Department of Education who work in four school areas with children and students aged 1-16 years. We work to ensure that all children and young people have a good learning environment where they feel safe and are given the opportunity to achieve good results. Welcome to one of our four school areas: Lärcenter, Skived, Ullerud, and Grossbol.

We are looking for someone who wants to contribute with their expertise as a special educator in adapted primary school from grades 1 - 9.

Job Responsibilities

As a special educator, you work to teach and challenge students to reach their full potential and knowledge development through your teaching. Your task is to design and adapt the teaching to meet the specific needs of the students and to guide teaching assistants in supporting the student through it. You will work closely with the principal, school psychologist, special educator, teachers, and other staff to identify each student's needs and find solutions for the students in a preventive and empowering manner. Continuous meetings with the school principal are part of the work for organizational development and follow-up. In the role of special educator within adapted primary school, you are expected to:

• Supervise staff – at both individual and group levels
• Observe and also actively participate in the educational activities
• Conduct assessments together with other staff
• Collaborate with various agencies

Qualifications

You are a qualified special educator with a focus on adapted primary school and have experience in special educational work within adapted primary school. You should be able to work independently but also collaboratively with teachers in the school and preschool. You are confident in yourself and your professional role and have the courage and knowledge to act and discuss from a special educational perspective.

You have the ability to create good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. You are well acquainted with the school's governing documents and have the ability to work solution-focused based on these with the students' best interests at heart.
