Special Educator for Adapted Primary School in Eskilstuna

Then you should apply for the position with us. We are currently seeking a special educator for our adapted primary school.

As an educator with us, you will work with a wonderful group of students who stimulate the development of your own teaching every day. The adapted primary school in Eskilstuna is locally integrated into two primary schools, Djurgårdsskolan and Årbyskolan. Together, we welcome around 150 students from grades 1-9 with varying degrees of intellectual and physical disabilities as well as NPF diagnoses.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a special educator, you will work alongside another special educator to support our students and staff. You will assist all teachers with adaptations and special support, as well as guide staff on special educational issues. You will conduct assessments, observations, and investigations. In this role, you will also provide special education to students and participate in the student health team. In your assignment, you will collaborate with guardians, habilitation services, and sometimes other authorities. You will help school management identify where resources are needed and how we can improve support for our students. Together with other staff, you will develop the workplace through your ideas and suggestions for improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a trained special educator/special teacher, or who will complete their training shortly. You have experience in guiding colleagues, working with individual interventions, and teaching students with intellectual disabilities combined with other diagnoses. You also have experience leading development work in educational settings. Experience as a special educator or special teacher is a significant plus.

As a person, you are humble, calm, and clear in collaboration with others. You are confident in yourself, express your opinions, and set clear boundaries. You are structured but also flexible and responsive to different needs.
