Engaged Teacher in English and Social Studies Wanted

Are you an engaged teacher in English and Social Studies who wants to work with students with complex needs? Do you have the ability to create relationships and social contact? Then this temporary position might be for you.

Rinman 3 currently includes seven units: Basklass, Extraresurscentrum (ERC), Fristadshus, Lyktan, Vattenpasset, Villan, and Kunskapen. We are here for students with complex needs aged 16-20 years. Each unit has its own profile based on students' needs and is usually located in premises outside of high schools. We work together and utilize everyone's expertise.

This position is a temporary role for one term at Villan, which accommodates 12 students. The team has a broad collective subject competence as well as knowledge about neuropsychiatric variations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a teacher with us, you will work with planning and instruction according to LGR22 and GY25. Each student has individually adapted tasks based on their needs and knowledge levels. Some have good subject knowledge while others lack basic skills. Therefore, you need to adapt your teaching and be comfortable teaching across the entire spectrum. Instruction takes place both individually and in smaller groups. The goal is always for our students to achieve grades in as many subjects as possible, but there is also a strong focus on the personal development of the student. You will also be a mentor for some students.

All work is done in close collaboration with colleagues and guardians. You will also collaborate with student health services, social services, BUP, and other stakeholders. You plan and participate in activities outside the classroom that strengthen students' motivation, such as study visits and excursions.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are primarily looking for someone who is a qualified teacher with credentials in both English and Social Studies, but you may also have qualifications in English and another subject. It is also acceptable if you are about to complete your education soon. You have teaching experience and have worked according to the curriculum, preferably at the middle or high school level. It is an advantage if you are a trained special education teacher, have taken special education courses, or have training in reading and writing difficulties. Likewise, if you have experience working with youth with complex needs. For this position, you also need to have a B driver's license.

As a person, you are good at meeting students in different environments and seeing their individual needs. Even in stressful situations, you remain calm and are stable and secure. You are clear in your communication and find it easy to collaborate and create contact, while also contributing with frameworks and structure.
