About the position

In the role of Strategic Technician, you will be part of the Steelworks management team and work closely with managers and technicians to achieve long-term results. At the Steelworks, approximately 250 employees work to manufacture steel by transforming liquid pig iron into solid materials of prime quality.

In your role as a strategic technician, you will work very closely with the Department Manager, and together you will ensure that the department meets its goals. You will have the opportunity to develop, take on significant responsibility, and replace the department manager when needed.

You will support the sections by being a present support and are expected to handle operational issues.

This is a fixed-term employment for 12 months, with the possibility of extension. Recruitment may occur on an ongoing basis, so submit your application now!

Your main responsibilities

• Daily management where safety, quality, delivery, and productivity are the highest focus.
• You will not have your own budget responsibility but are expected to participate and support the budget process, including cost tracking.
• You will be active in the development work of the processes with the support of our surrounding support functions, such as process development, maintenance organization, and production planning, among others.
• You will have an active role in investment work and participate in steering groups as well as help manage issues in the borderland between projects and the Steelworks, including the commissioning of new facilities.

About you

We are looking for a person who has several years of experience in the manufacturing industry, preferably within steel production. You have previous leadership experience. You are curious and not afraid to try new things. You report directly to the department manager at the Steelworks.
