Architect at Fortifikationsverket

Fortifikationsverket is looking for a participating architect for the newly established design unit. The mission of Fortifikationsverket is to meet the needs of the Armed Forces and defense-related authorities for functional and secure properties. This means that we build, own, manage, and operate many different types of properties that our tenants use for their activities. The authority's headquarters is located in Eskilstuna, where the position will also be based.

The project department responsible for construction investments currently has about 150 employees and is divided into operational units, a project support unit, a staff unit, and a design unit.

The design unit is in the process of being established, and we are now looking for several different competencies to carry out the design of buildings and facilities in-house.

Your daily life as an architect and part of a high-performing team in an authority with complex projects

As an architect, you will work in integrated teams together with project managers, building engineers, designers, and installation engineers, where you support with your expertise in the design of buildings and the creative process.

Your background and expertise in architecture should create an understanding of building and facility projects as a whole. This requires continuous teamwork across disciplinary boundaries and a very structured approach to create proposals that address aspects of function, technology, and physical security from an early stage.

As an architect, you will work with various software programs when creating, designing, and visualizing the best solutions in the BIM model while ensuring that standards, regulations, and guidelines are followed.

Complementary tasks that support the organization may also occur, and in your role, you will have many internal and external contacts. Travel within Sweden that can be planned will be included in the position. The position requires you to work on-site in Eskilstuna.

What do you offer us?

We are looking for someone who is a trained architect with a 5-year master's degree. You have several years of experience as a design architect, are technically knowledgeable, and are accustomed to working in Revit as well as in several Autodesk and Adobe programs for design and visualization of various types of architectural works.

It is advantageous if you have expertise in the BSAB system, contract law, and in the field of fortifications and/or defense.

Your personal qualities are very important to us, and we will place great emphasis on personal suitability. We are looking for someone with a high level of security awareness. For this role, you need to be collaborative and have an unpretentious focus on the common goal. You are structured, organize your work well, and meet deadlines. You are creative, stable, and experienced in handling stress constructively.

For the role, very good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing is required, as well as good knowledge of English. A class B driver's license is a requirement.
