Service Technician in Assistive Technology

The assistive technology services are responsible for the operation of assistive technology for people with mobility impairments in the southern part of Stockholm County, as well as county-wide responsibility for individuals in need of consumable aids at home, medical technology equipment at home, and communication, cognition, vision, and hearing aids.
Assistive Technology Stockholm supplies the southern part of the county with technical aids.
In the Technical Service unit, we work with the maintenance of technical aids for people with disabilities.
You will be a service technician in a team of three, responsible for ensuring that the equipment, primarily ceiling lifts and mobile floor lifts, you inspect and service maintain a high level of operational reliability and that our customers receive professional service and a good response.
The work is independent and characterized by self-planning, great precision, and daily contact with patients and relatives in their home environment.
As a technician, you will work with:
- Inspection of personal lifts and shower trolleys, both stationary and mobile
- Corrective and preventive maintenance
- Reconditioning of ceiling lift motors and mobile lifts
- Preparation and planning of work in consultation with relevant staff
- Participation in procurement and evaluations
We want you to have:
- At least a 2-year upper secondary education, preferably with a focus on vehicles, electrical-telecommunications, machine service, or a corresponding technical direction or experience that we assess as equivalent
- At least one year of experience in service within the relevant field for the tasks
- Very good organizational skills
- Very good ability to independently plan your jobs
- Experience in documenting your jobs
- A drive, curiosity to troubleshoot and identify the cause of the problem, not just replace parts
- Sufficient knowledge of English to understand service manuals
- Good computer skills
- A valid driver's license, at least B, is required
Since the work will mainly be performed in the patient's home environment, great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
We prefer that you have previous extensive experience from corresponding tasks at the Assistive Technology Center or similar operations that correspond to the tasks.
We believe that you are meticulous and practically oriented with a pronounced sense of order and are stimulated by working with customer contacts as well as providing quick and professional service; good reception is the key word in our customer meetings.
You are outgoing, flexible, and like us, have a positive attitude and an unpretentious approach.

The position involves daily tasks that are physically demanding, so it is a prerequisite that you have good physical condition.
A six-month probationary period may be applied.
Working hours: Monday – Friday, flexible working hours. 40 hours/week.
The position will be filled on the condition that it does not need to be allocated for internal relocation, according to current regulations.
In patient-related work within the Stockholm County healthcare area:
- Background checks will be applied before a hiring decision according to current guidelines.
- Employees who will have patient contact must undergo a pre-employment medical examination, according to current directives, which is done through occupational health services before employment.
- In addition to Swedish professional certification, good knowledge of the Swedish language at level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) is required. The same requirements apply to non-licensed personnel with patient contact.
