We are looking for a museum host at 60%
We are currently seeking a museum host at 60% for 4 weeks, starting in week 30. The position is part-time and is a seasonal employment over the summer period. Weekend shifts are included according to schedule. The Hallwyl Museum is a historic house - constantly in motion. Through knowledge, curiosity, and personal interaction, we aim to open doors to history and inspire new discoveries. You are the museum's face to the public, welcoming our visitors and conveying knowledge about the cultural history that the museum manages. You primarily work as a host and guide in the outward-facing operations.
Job Responsibilities
As a host, you greet and guide visitors while overseeing the safety in the museum's premises. Together with your colleagues, you are responsible for ensuring that the museum visit is experienced as high quality. As a guide, you ensure safety and preservation perspectives during regular and booked tours. We place great importance on awareness in historical usage and the ability to adapt your approach to visitors from an accessibility perspective. You ensure that visitors have a rewarding experience and are well received.
Your Qualifications
- At least 40 credits/60 ECTS in ethnology, art history, and/or related cultural historical subjects.
- A pronounced service and safety mindset, as well as a very good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English.
- Experience in service/customer interaction.
Meritorious
- Experience in hosting at a museum
- Experience in sales
- Experience in conducting tours
- Knowledge in digital communication
- Knowledge of a non-European language

The Swedish National Historical Museums is Sweden's largest state museum corporation. The authority includes the Hallwyl Museum, the Historical Museum, the Royal Armory, Skokloster Castle, Sweden's Museum of the Holocaust, and the Economic Museum - the Royal Coin Cabinet - including Tumba Bruk Museum. It also includes the Archaeologists' assignment operations, with offices in five different locations in the country. The Swedish National Historical Museums has the task of promoting knowledge about and interest in Sweden's history, as well as preserving and developing the cultural heritage managed by the authority.
