The district court is a modern workplace with centrally located and beautifully situated premises in Vänersborg. In 2027, the court will receive new and purpose-built premises in central Vänersborg. The court is divided into three adjudicating departments and one administrative department. Department 1 is a general department that handles criminal cases, civil cases, bankruptcies, general court matters, and enforcement matters. Departments 2 and 3 are environmental courts that handle, among other things, applications for permits for environmentally hazardous activities and water activities, as well as reviewing decisions from the county administrative board and municipalities regarding issues related to the Environmental Code and the Planning and Building Act. The court also handles property cases that have been appealed to the court from the Land Survey Authority and water and sewage matters.

Job Description

As a security guard at Vänersborg District Court, you are the first person that visitors to the court meet. You know that a good reception is important for creating a safe and secure environment.

As a security guard with us at the court, your main task is to staff both the security control and the reception as well as public areas. You are part of a team where you, together with other security guards and administrative staff, provide service to employees at the court, as well as parties in cases, lawyers, prosecutors, the public, and others.

Unexpected situations may arise in the work, which means you need to have a flexible approach, high stress tolerance, and good initiative. You enjoy collaborating and building relationships, and therefore we value that you are attentive, communicative, and have good judgment.

The tasks are varied and independent, and you perform them under your own responsibility together with your colleagues. Your most important task is to provide good external and internal service. Your responsibilities include, together with our other security guards, managing mail handling, reception staffing, local supervision, technology in the courtrooms, alarm and security systems, receiving visitors, ordering public documents, archiving, restocking materials, and other internal maintenance.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• Has completed upper secondary education.
• Has a valid security guard license.
• Has several years of work experience, preferably with service both internally and externally, e.g., in reception or as a caretaker.
• Has normal color vision as the work with X-ray equipment requires it.
• Has communicative and linguistic skills in both Swedish and English.
• Is an experienced computer user and has an interest and aptitude for learning new computer support programs.

Eligibility to serve in security control at the court and X-ray training is meritorious. Previous experience of court work as well as work with technology-related tasks may be meritorious.
