Police Region West consists of Halland County and Västra Götaland County. The operations in the region are organized into five police areas: Fyrbodal, Halland, Skaraborg, Storgöteborg, and Älvsborg, which are further divided into 16 local police areas. Additionally, there are three regional units: the operational unit, the intelligence unit, and the investigation unit, a regional office, and national departments represented in the region to support police operations.
The Skaraborg Police Area is one of five police areas in Police Region West. The Skaraborg Police Area spans 15 municipalities and is divided into two local police areas: Western Skaraborg and Eastern Skaraborg. At the police area level, there is an investigation section and a police area office. Currently, around 240 employees work in the Eastern Skaraborg local police area. The local police area is responsible for police operations in nine municipalities from Falköping in the south to Gullspång in the north. The local police area's assignments include responsibility for crime prevention and safety work, intervention operations, crime investigations, and public service such as reception and passport services.
We are now looking for you who want to work as a group leader for the investigation group in the Eastern Skaraborg local police area. We are seeking two group leaders based in Skövde or Falköping.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The assignment as group leader for the investigation group. As the head of the Investigation Group, you report to the local police area manager and are part of the local police area's management team, where you collectively are responsible for ensuring that assignments are carried out and for driving the authority's change and development work. You have specific responsibility for the section's/unit's/group's operations in the investigation area and its results. As a group leader, you represent the entire Police Authority both internally and externally and work to strengthen trust in police operations.
Being a manager and leader within the Police Authority means creating safety and building trust by exercising sincere, courageous, and attentive leadership with confidence in others' competence and ability. As a manager, you drive development by inspiring and encouraging reflection and feedback in a way that is based on following the law and treating people equally. You create conditions and work for good relationships that contribute to us acting together based on what is best for citizens and the mission as a whole.
QUALIFICATIONS
This is an opportunity for you who have:
- at least 6 months of continuous experience working as a manager or team leader
- experience participating in change and development work
- experience in the relevant operational area, investigation operations
- police degree or other post-secondary education deemed relevant by the employer
- experience in the police organization's operations
We consider it an advantage if you also have:
- experience leading others towards set goals and results
- participated in management forums
- management and leadership training for direct level
- experience participating in/driving collaboration with community actors outside the police organization/your own organization
- experience of the problem landscape in PO Skaraborg
- preliminary investigation leader training
- experience in leading preliminary investigations
