Summer Temporary Position as Treatment Assistant at SiS

The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS youth home Sundbo outside Fagersta receives non-compulsory school boys with psychosocial issues as well as criminality and substance abuse. We are tasked with providing care for young people with special care needs and accept boys who have been sentenced to closed youth care (LSU).

Job Description

Take the opportunity to try an interesting summer temporary position as a treatment assistant at SiS.

The goal of your assignment is to motivate our young people to new and less risky ways of living. As a treatment assistant, you will help ensure that the routines in the department function as they should. You play a significant role in the stability and safety of our young people and clients, and you provide the foundation for daily life such as schooling, cleaning, cooking, and more. You will also contribute to maintaining safety in the institution according to our routines. Documentation is an important part of your work. You will work on building good treatment relationships and contribute to ensuring that our young people and clients receive the security and safety they need to break old habits.

Together with your team of dedicated colleagues, such as treatment pedagogues and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Working hours are according to a schedule during days, evenings, and weekends.

As a summer temporary employee at SiS, you will undergo a tailored introductory training to prepare you for your assignment.

Qualifications

You should have:

• Completed upper secondary education
• Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., work in psychiatry or LSS care
• Driver's license B
• Good Swedish language skills in speech and writing

Meritorious:

• Experience from client-facing positions within the Correctional Services, e.g., Correctional Officer
• Security guard training
• Experience from client-facing positions within the Migration Agency, e.g., case officer at the Detention Center
• Education in health and care
• Experience working with our target group (e.g., substance abuse care, youth care)

Your personal suitability is key to life-changing transformations. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of humanity, great empathetic ability, and the ability to create good treatment relationships. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in stressful situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and are happy to share your knowledge with colleagues.

Employment

As a summer temporary employee, you are expected to be able to work according to a schedule between weeks 25-32.

Introduction will take place before the start during weeks 22-24, where both theoretical and practical information will be provided. There is also the possibility for introduction and extra work in the spring, as well as to continue the temporary position for weeks 33-34.
