We are responsible for the city's municipal schools from preschool class to grade nine, adapted primary school, cultural school, and after-school care. The administration has 138 municipal primary schools where nearly 47,000 students attend school every day. The entire administration has about 9,700 employees who collectively work to develop and take care of the operation - together we pave the way for the school of the future.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Nordhem School 1-9 is a historic school located in the heart of Linnéstaden, conveniently distanced from the city and Slottsskogen. You can easily reach us as the tram and bus networks converge at Järntorget, just north of the school.
There are just over 800 students at the school, of which about 200 are in primary and middle school. Nordhem School places a strong emphasis on learning with a focus on good teaching in a safe environment. The school consists of a primary school and an adapted primary school led by a team consisting of a principal, three assistant principals, and over 110 staff members. Nordhem School works with PALS - a school-wide approach based on relationship-building, clarity, and structure in both preventive and direct intervention plans.
We are now looking for a special education teacher for the adapted primary school for teaching in grades 7-9.
You will be part of the adapted primary school team for grades 7-9, working with special education teachers and student assistants. You will be pedagogically responsible for the students' learning and lead the teaching with the support of student assistants. You will primarily work in the class that teaches subjects but are expected to collaborate closely with your colleagues in the other class.
Your main task is to develop students' learning and development towards the goals for adapted primary school. You will plan and implement teaching for the students, both individually and together with colleagues, and be responsible for assessment.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who is an educated and licensed special education teacher with a focus on intellectual disabilities. Furthermore, you have the qualifications to teach in adapted primary school for grades 7-9 in the subjects of Math, Science, Swedish, English, and Social Studies. It is an advantage if you have additional subject qualifications and previous experience as a special education teacher. Previous work in adapted primary school is also an advantage for the position.
You are friendly and helpful to others even in a stressful situation. You show respect for everyone you meet at work. You are inviting and positive. You work to ensure that the student receives what they need. You convey information and ideas clearly both verbally and in writing. You ensure that your message gets across. You adapt your communication according to the recipient, target group, and situation.
You have a good understanding of how individuals absorb knowledge and their different conditions. You adapt the way you convey your message to the recipient and encourage dialogue, participation, and engagement. You work well with others by listening, showing interest, and respect. You understand the common mission and work to make it as good as possible.
Welcome with your application!
In this recruitment, we will not request a personal letter as an application document. Instead, you will be asked to answer a number of questions where we ask you to describe your competence in the requested area.
The position will be filled subject to it not being claimed for internal reasons.
