We are located in an expanding region with convenient commuting options to Stockholm, Uppsala, and Västerås. For those considering relocating to be closer to work, the Enköping region has much to offer. The hospital provides acute and planned care for approximately 72,000 residents in Enköping, Håbo, and Southern Heby, and we also have specialist assignments throughout Uppsala County. Here, you can make a difference - for the patients and for the organization - in a work environment where we constantly develop together. Would you like to be part of our team? A warm welcome to the Hospital in Enköping!

Our Operations

The surgical department is an elective care unit focused on orthopedics, general surgery, and urology. We have twelve beds in the department with quick patient turnover (patients are operated on one day and usually go home the next). We value a good psychosocial work environment where there should be an open climate and regularly work on improvements in this area.

Teamwork is central to the department, enabling a holistic view of the patient, individualized measures, and promoting patient safety. The team consists of nurses, nursing assistants, physiotherapists, department doctors, and operators in various diagnoses.

Your Mission

The department has typical tasks for junior doctors in an inpatient department, primarily focusing on orthopedic care, but also includes surgical, urological, and gynecological patients. As a junior doctor in the department, you are expected to be the central person for ward rounds and a cohesive link in patient care in consultation with senior doctors and nurses. We focus on good working methods with developing rounds, person-centered care, daily management, etc.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

  • has obtained a medical degree.
  • is interested in working in a surgical specialty ward with a focus on orthopedics, in collaboration with senior doctors and the team.

Clinical experience as a substitute doctor is considered an asset. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

We Offer

Fixed-term employment for 6 months with the possibility of extension, full-time. Support and advice from day on-call and operating doctors. 100% employment rate. Working hours are scheduled Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 16:30. Start date June 2025. Here, you will meet and collaborate with colleagues from various professional categories. For newly graduated nurses, we also offer enhanced introduction for an additional three months. This includes reflective professional supervision as well as shadowing and coaching from our clinical adjunct. You will also participate in practical training at our KTC (Clinical Training Center), a safe and supportive environment to practice and develop your skills.
