Värnamo Municipality is looking for a lead teacher

A broad initiative is being made around language and knowledge-developing working methods where all teachers in the municipality will strengthen their knowledge and how it contributes to all students' language development.

Description

We are a newly built school for about 480 students, located in the heart of Värnamo. We work to promote students' learning and personal development through engaging pedagogy and a safe, supportive climate. Our vision is to create a health-promoting and accessible school for all!

Responsibilities

• In this role, you will be part of the school's development team with lead teachers, knowledge spreaders, and school management who together drive development work within the unit.
• As a lead teacher, you will work to develop teaching for increased goal fulfillment. In addition, you will be a driving force in development issues and have a key role in leading collegial learning. This means anchoring research and proven experience in teaching.
• Your role includes being a role model for colleagues and actively contributing to making teaching visible and working in accordance with the municipality's development work.
• The lead teacher's classroom should be open for lesson visits from management, principals, colleagues, parents, and invited guests, and you are expected to have an open and critical approach to your practice.
• The principal plans together with the lead teacher the conditions and possibly overarching development work in the annual assignment dialogue.
• Teaching in grades 4-6.

Qualifications

You must be able to document at least four years of well-regarded work in teaching within the framework of one or more positions in the school system.

You should have demonstrated a particularly good ability to improve students' academic results and a strong interest in developing teaching. Additionally, you should be assessed by the employer as particularly qualified for teaching and tasks related to teaching.

We are looking for someone who is qualified and experienced in teaching grades 4-6.

Recruitment Process

The application should include a personal letter explaining why you are applying for the position.

• In your personal letter, describe how you view the role of lead teacher and how you can be a role model for other teachers in the municipality in your professional practice.
• Provide examples of development projects you have initiated, led, or participated in and how they have impacted students' goal fulfillment.

Conditions

This is a permanent position as a teacher with a three-year fixed-term appointment as a lead teacher with the possibility of extension. Employment according to AB, appendix M.

We are working with ongoing selection and interviews. The position will be filled provided that the necessary decisions are made.

In Värnamo Municipality, all permanent positions are advertised as full-time. If you prefer part-time and the organization can accommodate a lower employment rate, that is of course an option.
