RESPONSIBILITIES

As a special education teacher in Swedish, you play a key role in developing and implementing instruction tailored for students with special support needs in language development and literacy. You work both with individual students and in smaller groups to strengthen their reading, writing, and language skills based on evidence-based methods.

In close collaboration with teachers and student health services, you assess students' needs, conduct pedagogical investigations, and create action plans that provide each student with the right conditions to succeed. You drive development initiatives to enhance the language and knowledge development work at the school and serve as a pedagogical advisor for colleagues on how to adapt instruction for students in need of support.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a licensed special education teacher with a focus on language, reading, and writing development who has experience teaching at the middle school, high school, or upper secondary level. You have a solid understanding of reading and writing acquisition as well as compensatory and alternative tools for students with language-related challenges.

You are an analytical and solution-focused educator with strong didactic skills and the ability to tailor instruction based on diverse needs. You are accustomed to collaborating in interdisciplinary teams and have a drive to develop methods and teaching models that yield long-term results.

We would like you to have experience working with systematic quality work, pedagogical mapping, and implementing additional adaptations and special support in accordance with governing documents and research.

At our school, we value professionalism, commitment, and a student-centered approach where each student's opportunities for learning and development are in focus. If you are a special education teacher who wants to work in a school where your expertise is utilized and where you can help drive the development of special education work, we look forward to your application.
