Job Advertisement: Teacher in Mathematics, Physics, and Technology

Increased learning - equity - meeting places; three important core values that permeate all work in the schools of Nässjö municipality, a medium-sized municipality with about 30,000 inhabitants in the Småland highlands. To realize this, the municipal council has adopted a strategic and long-term development plan for preschool and school in Nässjö municipality.

Within the Department of Children and Education, we consciously and purposefully work to provide every child and student with the tools needed to seek knowledge in life. The goal is for every child and student to develop according to their conditions and feel joy and pride in their achievements.

Brinell's middle school is a 7-9 school that includes adapted primary school. Our school is characterized by diversity and inclusion, and we actively work with language development. Here, students from different cultures mix, enriching both teaching and the school environment.

Safety, responsibility, and respect are the school's guiding principles and permeate our entire operation. We believe that relationship-building work is the key to a good environment and good study results. We focus on creating strong relationships between colleagues, students, and guardians. Both mentors and subject teachers are highly engaged in the well-being and studies of the students. All classes have two mentors, where we strive for an even gender distribution. As a teacher, you work closely with your subject colleagues, creating good conditions for developing collegial cooperation.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a teacher at Brinell's middle school 7-9, you will teach mathematics, physics, and technology. You are responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating the teaching and adapting it to the individual needs and conditions of the students. Collegial cooperation and continuous development of teaching are important parts of your work. Your task includes planning and implementing teaching that promotes learning and development based on the students' individual conditions. The curriculum specifies the goals for both knowledge and social and personal development. You will also be a mentor for a class.

  • Plan and implement varied individual and group-adapted learning in teaching based on governing documents
  • Evaluate, analyze, and provide feedback
  • Document and assess based on governing documents
  • Encourage and create conditions for student influence
  • Manage group processes, e.g., conflicts within the student group
  • Contribute to school development
  • Create and maintain contacts with guardians
  • Collaborate with internal and external actors
  • Stay updated in the profession

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has clear and secure leadership in the classroom and can adapt teaching to the needs of the students.
  • Has good collaborative skills and enjoys working in a team.
  • Wants to contribute to a positive, safe, and inclusive school environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Is licensed and qualified to teach mathematics, physics, and technology in the later years of primary school.
