JOB DESCRIPTION

Do you want to help create a safe and inspiring learning environment for our students? We are currently looking for a teacher in social studies for Withalaskolan - a school where we work to develop both knowledge and values among our students.

Withalaskolan is located in the heart of Vetlanda, just a stone's throw from the center and Stortorget. About 700 students in grades 7-9 attend here, and we have around 80 employees who together create an environment where all students have the opportunity to become their best selves.

At Withalaskolan, you will be part of a dedicated teaching team where colleagues support, challenge, and share ideas with each other. You will be part of a working group where you collaboratively develop teaching and create a learning environment that allows each student to grow. In addition to your working group, you will also collaborate with colleagues in subject meetings to develop teaching within your subject area.

You will plan and conduct lessons that give students the conditions to both develop and achieve their goals. By adapting teaching to each student's needs, you create a learning environment where everyone has the opportunity to succeed. Your responsibilities also include documenting and following up on students' development and maintaining close communication with both students and guardians.

We work from a relational perspective, where we see each student, strengthen their belief in their own abilities, and inspire lifelong learning. Equity is central - all students should have the same opportunity to succeed.

As a new teacher with us, you will receive a mentor, an experienced colleague who will be there as support and a sounding board.

We are looking for someone who is secure and stable and has an easy time collaborating with both students and colleagues. You are attentive, communicative, and create engagement and participation in the classroom. With a positive attitude and solution-focused mindset, you see opportunities where others see obstacles.

The position is a temporary contract for the autumn term of 2025, starting on August 8, or by agreement.
