As a library host, you will focus on our visitors. You will staff the information desk and greet our visitors at the entrance to guide them correctly in the library. You are there to provide a positive, accommodating, and professional response. You assist with everything from simple IT questions to book loans and ensure that everyone receives the help they need. IT questions may involve how to use digital tools such as computers and mobile phones, internet search engines, and printing documents. In addition, you will work with practical tasks, such as shelving books and keeping the library in top shape.
Your skills and experience
We are looking for you who have:
- completed secondary education
- good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form
- several years of experience in service roles supporting/guiding/helping people or other experience deemed equivalent by the employer
- basic IT skills (digital tools such as mobile phones and computers, internet search engines, document printing, etc.) to be able to assist our visitors with simple matters in a pedagogical way.
It is meritorious to have:
- additional language skills (besides Swedish)
- experience working in libraries.
Your personal skills and abilities
You feel comfortable using and working with digital tools such as computers and mobile phones and using internet search engines. You have a strong service focus and greet both visitors and colleagues with warmth and kindness. You are proactive and self-driven, handling varying tasks and situations with confidence. You enjoy taking responsibility and see every challenge as an opportunity to solve problems and improve the experience for our visitors. Your communicative and pedagogical abilities are a great asset as you meet people from all backgrounds and with different needs. In stressful periods, you remain calm and act professionally.
