What we do and want

Tyresö Cultural School offers leisure activities for children and young people aged 5-19 in subjects such as music, dance, theater, film, musical, circus, visual arts, and animation.

The cultural school has approximately 1200 students and around 30 educators. The activities are mainly conducted at the cultural center Kvarnhjulet, within walking distance from Tyresö center, but also at libraries, youth centers, and several of the municipality's schools.

About the position

We are looking for a singing teacher for the instruction of the cultural school's youngest singing students. The teaching is conducted in groups and targets children aged 5-12 years. In this role, you are expected to work interdisciplinary in various projects and concerts and also participate in outreach activities to reach new target groups. The teaching is scheduled for Mondays. Performances and activities on weekends may occur.

The position is a temporary contract from August 13 to December 19, 2025, with a possibility of extension during the spring term of 2026.

The scope is 20% with a monthly salary. Individual salary setting.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who:

has a pedagogical university degree in the subject or equivalent
has a strong commitment to children's voices at an early age
has a wide range of genres

It is an advantage if you have previous experience teaching in a cultural school and/or working with children with special needs. Experience in rhythm and singing with preschool children is also meritorious.

You have the ability to stimulate and motivate students through good pedagogy. You find it easy to collaborate and have good communication skills with students, parents, colleagues, and other staff in the municipality. You are independent and can take your own initiatives to develop the teaching. You are creative and see opportunities in the student's creation. Furthermore, you are strongly engaged in your subject while maintaining a holistic perspective on the cultural school's activities.
