Description

Hultsberg School is seeking a school counselor to further strengthen our student health work. We operate under the motto: "We are Hultsberg School, where all staff play an important role in the student's development and well-being." At the school, we work with great heart and systematic approaches to achieve success in student work. Hultsberg School is part of a research project to promote the work on students' mental health, and staff in grades 7-9 have been trained in TMO, trauma-informed care, as a way to gain knowledge and consensus regarding students in difficulties.

Responsibilities

As one of two school counselors at Hultsberg School (grades F-9), you will be part of the school's student health team, whose main mission is health promotion and preventive work. You will work with grades 7-9 in the middle school and be present in the central hall where the students are and the pace is high. The majority of your time will be spent with students so that they get to know you as a trusted adult at the school. You will collaborate closely with our social pedagogue. Together, you are close to the students and a natural part of their school life.

Hultsberg School actively and systematically works with students' attendance as a foundation for a successful school experience and education. You show great care for the students, set demands, and establish boundaries as part of providing guidance and support for their continued studies and adult life. You will structure and coordinate social interventions around students with various school difficulties. In this role, you will also guide teachers on psychosocial issues, work with students on an individual and group level, and conduct support conversations with students.

You will also be part of the school's Safety Team, where you will work preventively with others in the group and, when necessary, assist with urgent interventions. You will also collaborate with teachers, guardians, and others within the student health team. When needed, you will initiate and participate in network work around students with other actors outside the school.

You and the other school counselor for grades F-9 will be responsible for the systematic equal treatment work. You will conduct, for example, satisfaction surveys, activities, and plan work from a F-9 perspective with a particular focus on the transition between grades 6 and 7.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a trained social worker. Experience working in the school environment or similar work is considered an advantage.

We expect you to be able to collaborate easily, plan, prioritize, and perform your work independently. You have an outgoing and inclusive approach and create good relationships with educators, students, and guardians. You have a respectful attitude towards people's differences and share the values of society and the school, particularly regarding inclusion. Furthermore, you are comfortable working in both small and larger groups of students and staff to meet the requirements of the Education Act regarding preventive and health-promoting work. You keep up with current research and base your development work on an analysis of previous results. Additionally, you have a good command of the Swedish language to document what the organization requires in writing. Knowledge of multiple languages is a plus. We place great importance on personal suitability.

The position will be filled subject to the necessary decisions being made.
