About the workplace

Kurera Omsorg is looking for a personal assistant for a parental substitute for a lovely, cheerful, and active woman in Malmö starting in July. The position will be a parental substitute for approximately 1 year, with a high chance of remaining with fixed shifts in the schedule afterwards.

Since the client requires assistance 24/7, the working hours are scheduled for day, evening, and night. The client also has double staffing for a large part of the day.

There are 3 different shifts in a day, and the working hours are: 1. 08:45-17:30, 2. 13:00-22:00, 3. 21:00-12:00 (on-call at night).

The workplace is located in Malmö and has good and close bus connections.

The position is a parental substitute with about 35 hours a week. The times in the schedule that become available are varied with both day, evening, and night shifts. Weekend work occurs.

The Client

The client is a 57-year-old woman who loves music, values beauty, and expresses it by enjoying painting her nails, putting on makeup, dyeing her hair, and taking care of her skin with meticulous facial care. The client enjoys being active and exploring various activities and places when she is out. She wants to go out at least once a day and likes to enjoy concerts when opportunities arise.

She has a large family that is very close to her, so visits to or from relatives are common.

In 2003, the client suffered a severe stroke that left her in a coma for many months. This severely affected her speech, vision, and physical abilities. She is paralyzed on the left side of her body and therefore uses a wheelchair. Due to the significant impact on her speech, it can be difficult to understand her. She is currently receiving assistance to obtain aids to express herself more easily. Her stroke also caused chewing and swallowing difficulties, and she receives most of her nutrition through a PEG tube in her stomach.

The client has a ceiling lift at home in both the living room and bedroom, as well as a new tipping board that the staff is currently delegating.

Job Responsibilities

As a personal assistant, you will help with the tasks the client cannot manage on her own in daily life. This includes household chores, personal hygiene, exercise, medical appointments, and leisure activities. Working as a personal assistant requires maturity and the ability to empathize with another person's situation.

You need to have a strong work ethic, be detail-oriented, and have a good eye for details. You should be able to write and speak fluent Swedish.

You need to be focused and attentive during your shift. It is important that you can distinguish between personal and work life. The client prefers that you are between 25-50 years old and would prefer only female assistants. Experience in the assistance profession or education in healthcare is an advantage.
