The Child and Youth Administration is seeking lead teachers/lecturers in Swedish, SVA, NO, and Mathematics.

Do you want to help develop teaching and inspire both students and colleagues? We are looking for committed and experienced teachers who want to take the step to become lead teachers or who are already lead teachers/lecturers but wish to change schools.

This time we are primarily looking for lead teachers/lecturers for the following units:

• Fredricelund School, 1st Mathematics f-3 and 1st Mathematics 4-6
• Frödings School, 1st Mathematics 4-6 (with qualifications in NO) and 1st Mathematics 7-9 (with qualifications in NO).
• Hultberg School, 1st Mathematics 4-6 (with qualifications in NO) and 1st Mathematics 7-9 (with qualifications in NO).
• Kronopark School, 2nd SVA f-3 and 2nd Mathematics f-3
• Nyeds School, 2nd Mathematics f-6 and 2nd Swedish f-6
• Vålberg School, 1st Mathematics 7-9 (with qualifications in NO)

You will apply for the subject you are interested in becoming a lead teacher/lecturer in. In the selection process, your qualifications and competencies will be matched against the school and needs.

The assignments come with a salary supplement of 5,000 SEK, 7,500 SEK, or 10,000 SEK for lead teachers depending on the unit. If you are a lecturer, an additional salary supplement of 5,000 SEK will be added.

Responsibilities

In the role of lead teacher/lecturer, your primary task is teaching. As a lead teacher/lecturer with us, you are expected to have solid subject knowledge and the ability to motivate and inspire students in teaching. You will work to improve students' academic results, analyze teaching, and work with evidence-based teaching methods. You will also contribute to school development by leading and supporting collegial learning through mentorship, observation, and pedagogical discussions.

Your assignment as a lead teacher/lecturer runs for three years at a time and is linked to a specific school. After three years, there may be an opportunity for extension. You have a permanent employment as a teacher that remains even if the lead teacher/lecturer assignment is not extended after three years. In some cases, leave of absence may be granted to try out the lead teacher role at another school.

The application process occurs in steps. The first selection is based on CV and qualification questions. After the interview, selected candidates will be asked to submit further work samples. Those who are already lead teachers/lecturers in Karlstad Municipality will be handled separately.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has a teaching license and at least 4 years of documented experience in teaching. You have demonstrated a particularly good ability to improve students' academic results and have a strong interest in developing teaching. To become a lecturer, a doctoral degree (licentiate or doctoral degree) is also required. You are proactive, solution-oriented, and have a developed analytical ability. You are a team player with good collaboration skills and a willingness to share your knowledge. If you also have experience in mentorship, research-based development, or working in multicultural learning environments, we consider that an advantage.
