Join our dedicated team and play a crucial role in upgrading the ETCS train signaling system on X61 vehicles, where your skills will truly make a difference in ensuring safe and efficient train operations!

Your future role

You will report to the site manager and work together in a group with competent and dedicated colleagues who will help you integrate into the work and team in the best way possible.

At the depot in Helsingborg, you will work on upgrading the ETCS train signaling system on X61 vehicles.

Depending on your skills, the work will involve everything from dismantling units, cabling, and other work steps according to the work manual. You should be able to follow and understand instructions in English.

You will also:

The work is performed according to instructions in existing systems. Record and document information in our current systems regarding e.g. action text, materials used, etc. With the support of troubleshooters, we sometimes troubleshoot and rectify electrical faults on the vehicles. Use the overhead crane, as well as other tools. Ensure compliance with the requirements of the Environmental, Health, Safety, and Quality Policy. Work according to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and Alstom's railway safety policy.

To succeed as an assembler, you need to have strong technical skills and an eye for detail.

You need to be structured and enjoy working according to clear processes. We also believe that you thrive on working towards deadlines to get the trains out on time. You are good at organizing and planning your work well.

We also believe that you are analytical and enjoy performing technical troubleshooting and finding solutions to problems. Additionally, it is important that you are meticulous and have a strong sense of responsibility, as the work of an assembler directly impacts the safety and health of all passengers. Good communication and collaboration skills are also important, as you will work alongside other technicians and staff at our depot.

To succeed in the role:

We value passion and attitude over experience. Therefore, we do not expect you to have all the skills. Instead, we have listed some that we believe will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Education/experience or a strong passion for mechanical work and technology.
  • Experience or understanding of technical work in the aerospace, industrial, or automotive industry or similar where repair and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and digital control systems have been part of your daily routine.
  • We would like you to be accustomed to assembling electrical and mechanical components according to drawings and instructions. If you have good knowledge of electricity, that is a big plus.

Skills:

  • Knowledge and ability to solve complex problems are advantageous.
  • Familiarity with the railway industry is a plus.
  • Good language skills in English.

We are looking for someone who can work during the day. To become an authorized service technician, you need to undergo Alstom's free internal training program and a medical health examination, which Alstom will arrange.
