Project Manager for International Testing Operations
We are looking for a project manager who wants to help drive our work with international testing operations forward. With us, you will have the opportunity to use your skills where they truly make a difference. Together with an experienced team, you will help create solutions that leave an impact – both today and in the future.
About the Position
As a project manager, you will play a central role in coordinating the national development of verification and validation (VoV) of the international framework, Federated Mission Network (FMN), which several countries must adhere to regarding technology, methods, and processes in military operations. You will be responsible for planning and executing validation and verification within the overarching FMV FMN project.
Furthermore, you will work with test environments connected across various geographical areas within different projects related to NATO's network, Combined Federated Battle Laboratories (CFBLNet), in Enköping. The network is used for verifying functionalities together with other nations. You will support FMV, the Armed Forces, and other authorities in integrating and planning verification and validation operations within the framework of the network.
In addition, you will support the national planning and execution of NATO's interoperability exercise, Coalition Warrior Interoperability eXercise (CWIX). This is an annual exercise where researchers, engineers, testers, and operators meet to work practically on the technical aspects of interoperability in communication and information systems. CWIX is an opportunity to test current, upcoming, and future system solutions.
Given the nature of the position, you will represent Sweden in international working groups and collaborations. You are expected to create and maintain contact points between FMV and the Armed Forces, as well as international partners.
The position is based in Enköping, but several meetings will be held elsewhere. Additionally, there may be a number of trips abroad, approximately eight weeks per year, to represent the department and gather knowledge.
About You
We are looking for someone with post-secondary technical education, technical officer training, and relevant project management training, or equivalent competence acquired in another way that we assess as equivalent. You have both relevant and current experience in leading projects with subordinate staff, the Armed Forces' command support systems, and international collaborations. The position requires a B driver's license and good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
It is advantageous if you have training in information security, as well as experience in testing and verification operations or configuration, operation, and management of IT networks. Familiarity with the FMN framework is a plus.
Personal qualities are of great importance to us. We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds and experiences and seek someone who is a natural leader and motivates others by creating engagement and participation on the way to common goals. You have strong collaboration skills and relate to others in a responsive and smooth manner, communicating clearly and handling challenges constructively. With your structured approach, you plan and organize your work effectively, set clear priorities, and ensure that deadlines are met.
FMV – Swedish Defence Materiel Administration
At FMV, you contribute to making Sweden and the world safer. We are tasked with providing the Swedish defense with the latest technology and knowledge so that they can defend our country and our allies. Together with competent and engaged colleagues, you will be involved in developing and procuring what sometimes does not yet exist.
You will work in our testing and evaluation area, which is responsible for verifying and validating the material that FMV delivers to the Armed Forces. This means checking that FMV has received what was ordered and that the system can be used as intended.
Within the area, there is a cyber unit that you will belong to. The unit contributes to ensuring that the Armed Forces receive the requested capability by verifying and validating functional chains and technical interoperability within the command system area. Command support systems exist from soldiers and sailors to higher staffs and between the Armed Forces' operational domains; land, sea, air, cyber, and space. Furthermore, the unit conducts validation and verification of systems connected in networks, which also occurs with other nations/organizations. The operations are conducted in project form with assignments from other parts of FMV, the Armed Forces, or other government agencies.
At FMV, you are offered a secure employment with good benefits:
- Professional development and career opportunities
- Flexible working hours and the possibility of remote work as far as the work allows
- Pension plan and wellness allowance
