Engineer for the Future of Combat Aircraft

We are now looking for an engineer who wants to help shape both today's and tomorrow's combat aircraft. With us, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting and varied projects that span the entire lifecycle of combat aircraft systems – from concept and new construction to modification and maintenance.

About the Position

We are seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer for aircraft to strengthen the management of our system work.

As Chief Engineer, you will play a central role in leading the system work within the basic aircraft area for the JAS 39 Gripen and the next generation of combat aircraft. You will be part of our product organization and work in both development and maintenance operations.

In this role, you will be a key person in the organization and responsible for ensuring that the preparation and working methods for system work are relevant and correct together with your colleagues. You will work all the way from needs and analysis to delivery and implementation.

The role also involves supporting our engineers and product representatives to work correctly and solve emerging problems. You will also have the freedom to find creative and sustainable solutions for our work.

You will be part of a knowledgeable team that collectively uses your skills to develop the JAS 39 Gripen and upcoming combat aircraft.

In your role as Chief Engineer, you will work together with system engineers and other experts at both FMV (Swedish Defence Materiel Administration), industry, and the Armed Forces to create sustainable and innovative solutions that meet the needs of the armed forces.

The position is based in Stockholm, and travel may occur.

About You

We are looking for someone who is a civil or university engineer or has equivalent competence acquired in another way that we assess as equivalent.

You have experience in technical development work within the aviation field. To succeed in the role, it is necessary that you have knowledge of regulations within the aviation sector, military or civilian. If you have product knowledge of the JAS 39 Gripen or other military aircraft systems, it is advantageous, as is experience with INCOSE Systems Engineering (ISO/IEE/IEEE 15288).

We view positively if you have prior knowledge of FMV's working methods. You should have a good ability to express yourself both verbally and in writing in Swedish and English.

Personal qualities are of great importance to us. We welcome applicants with diverse backgrounds and experiences and are looking for someone who enjoys collaborating with others and helping both them and yourself to develop. We also see that you are self-driven, take your own initiatives, and have the ability to plan and organize your work.

FMV - Swedish Defence Materiel Administration

At FMV, you contribute to making Sweden and the world safer. We are tasked with providing the Swedish Armed Forces with the latest technology and knowledge so that they can defend our country and our allies. Together with competent and engaged colleagues, you will be part of developing and procuring what sometimes does not yet exist. You drive the development all the way from needs to delivery. From idea to reality.

Within Combat Aircraft, we drive projects for maintenance, export, and development of the JAS 39 Gripen for both the Armed Forces and export customers. Based on the needs of our clients, we both lead and procure development, system support, and maintenance of the Gripen system and its components.

At FMV, you are offered a secure employment with good benefits:
