Lapland Municipal Federation is an association between the municipalities of Kiruna, Gällivare, Jokkmokk, and Pajala that collaborates in upper secondary education, adult education, energy and climate counseling, procurement, and personal representatives. The region has about 55,000 inhabitants and an area of over 60,000 square kilometers. Approximately 350 employees work within the federation.

Lapland Gymnasium is the joint upper secondary organization for Gällivare, Jokkmokk, Kiruna, and Pajala. Our four schools together offer around 20 programs and have a total of about 2000 students, located in Sweden's largest and most distance-dependent region. Our school organization is situated in Sweden's largest region, where distances can be significant, but we always strive to be close and accessible to our students and staff. Far away but still close. Our vision is to offer unique and attractive education of the highest quality.

The Gällivare Ski Gymnasium has a long tradition, and over the years we have guided approximately 700 RIG/NIU students in both our disciplines, cross-country and alpine skiing. We operate with high quality and optimal conditions. Lapland Gymnasium's school, the newly built Knowledge House, is centrally located in Gällivare, close to commerce, culture, and sports activities, including a well-equipped gym. Our cross-country tracks are a short walk from the school, and Hellnerstadion, with World Cup level tracks, is just a few kilometers away at the foot of Dundret.

The Ski Gymnasium collaborates with other actors such as the health center and youth reception in an expanded Health Team to provide students with multiple contact paths for support when needed. At Lapland Gymnasium, we want our students to thrive while they develop as skiers and receive a good education in our upper secondary programs. We strive to help and learn from each other between disciplines and have regular follow-ups where we share experiences. You will be welcomed by a safe working team with broad experience and extensive collective competence. One of our coaches will be on parental leave during the autumn term of 2025, and therefore we are looking for a substitute coach for the cross-country side. Are you the right person to help us?

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a special sports teacher/ski coach with us, you have a broad role that places high demands on collaboration and flexibility. The work includes planning and leading training sessions with students together with other coaches. You will also plan camp activities and the practical aspects of competition trips and other events carried out with the students. The coaching group actively works to create a safe training and competition group where students support and encourage each other positively. Our motto is Aim for the top to reach the top. You will also have individual follow-up conversations with students and support them in their elite ambitions. This includes contacts with guardians and collaboration with other teaching staff at the school.

QUALIFICATIONS

Special sports teacher. The Swedish Ski Federation's junior and senior coach education or equivalent is desirable, as well as a personal career as an active competitive skier in cross-country. Experience working with youth is also preferred. We place great importance on personal suitability. A B driver's license is a requirement.
