The Communications Department in Österåker Municipality creates conditions for everyone who lives, works, and visits the municipality to be well-informed and involved, supports management's work to achieve the municipality's vision and goals, and builds a strong brand. The department consists of two units: communication and service center. The communications unit has six communicators and a manager overseeing internal and external communication, media relations and crisis communication, branding and profiling, as well as support, advice, and training in communication for the municipality's operations.

Österåker Municipality is facing an exciting development where we see a need to revitalize our internal communication. A survey will be conducted during the year, and we will review our internal communication system and develop the content on our internal channels. As a communicator focusing on internal communication, you will play an important role in this work.

In your role, you will be the editor for our internal news and be part of our editorial team together with our editor for external news. You will work closely and unpretentiously to plan and create texts, images, and videos for the municipality's various overarching communication channels such as intranet, website, social media, newsletters, as well as editorial and traditional advertisements. The work also includes some design. The editorial team has support from other communicators in the unit as needed.

You will be responsible for the news on our intranet, our internal e-newsletter to all employees, and the messages on our internal digital screens located throughout our operations. You will also assist the communications manager in arranging meetings for all employees in the municipality four times a year, which can also be viewed via our intranet.

As we see significant potential synergy effects between internal news and LinkedIn, you will also be the editor for the municipality's official account on that platform.

It may also be relevant to work strategically and operationally with other special communication assignments or initiatives as needed.

The position includes being a communicator on standby according to the duty roster.

The communications unit is a small group where we take the time to help each other when needed. We hope you will do the same.

Your profile

We want you to have worked as a communicator focusing on content creation for at least a few years, or as a journalist within communication operations. Furthermore, you should have a completed university degree in media and communication studies or journalism, or equivalent.

You have a good ability to identify interesting, relevant, and engaging content for various communication channels, while also understanding communication as a tool to achieve the organization's goals. It is an advantage if you have experience working with communication in the public sector or a larger organization. You understand what it means to work in a politically governed organization.

You enjoy planning and thrive on managing parallel productions, ensuring that you meet sometimes tight deadlines. As a writer and editor, you are quick and sharp, whether it concerns heavier news or lighter reports and interviews. You have a good feel for language and form and do not hesitate to take photos or videos yourself and do simple editing of these. Naturally, you master the programs and tools required for this and find it easy to adapt to new programs and tools.

Of course, you are smart, socially aware, and well-informed. As a person, you are responsible and humble. You will have many contacts both within and outside the organization, which requires your ability to collaborate and build good relationships. You are attentive and service-minded and provide a good reception. We place great importance on personal suitability.
