Job Mission:
The role as a Legal Counsel at Piab Group is two-fold. In addition to providing legal advice and support on a wide range of areas, you will be responsible for driving and managing the legal compliance agenda at Piab Group. Compliance is pivotal for Piab Group and our compliance agenda includes areas such as global trade compliance, anti-trust compliance, anti-bribery and corruption compliance. We are looking for a highly motivated, pragmatic and skilled Legal Counsel who wants to join a fast-growing company in an international environment.
You will report directly to Group Head of Legal and the role is based in Danderyd, Stockholm.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Legal Advice: Proactively identify legal challenges and offering business-oriented support to all levels of the organization, worldwide, on legal issues.
- Business Contracts: draft and review business contracts, leases, and other legal documents and recommend revisions as necessary. Enhance standard template agreements.
- Legal Investigations: Conduct internal investigations on various matters, including whistleblower reports.
- Monitoring of Laws and Regulations: Stay informed about global legislative changes and update Piab Group’s policies and procedures accordingly.
- Risk Management: Assist with the implementation and management of Piab Group’s risk management program, performing risk assessments and implementing measures to mitigate identified risks.
- Corporate Governance: Provide support and advice on corporate governance.
- Compliance Programs: Develop, implement, and maintain our comprehensive compliance programs, ensuring adherence to laws such as anti-trust, anti-bribery and trade sanctions.
- Trainings: Develop and deliver training to ensure awareness and understanding of compliance matters and to promote a culture of ethical awareness.
Qualifications:
- A Swedish degree in law (LL.M) or similar
- Minimum 6 years of legal experience from a law firm and/or corporate legal department, preferably in an international context.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Broad base of legal knowledge in compliance, litigation, corporate governance, contract law, M&A, and commercial transactions.
- Fluency in spoken and written English and Swedish, with effective communication skills to interact with diverse organizational levels.
- Experience in working independently and as part of a team, within both local and virtual teams, promoting cooperation across the organization.
